DEVELOPING CROSS-CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING (CCU) MATERIALS IN TOURISM GUIDING FOR VOCATIONAL STUDENTS

Learning English for Specific Purpose (ESP) vocational students, is very important so that certain ways are needed to encourage students' needs. Students must receive sufficient material in based on their interests and majors. This study aims analyze learning needs of tourism guide materials. The method used this qualitative quantitative research design where the data collected with numerical form then described a description. instruments questionnaires open-ended interviews. conducts analysis measure student develop ESP participants 3rd 4th semester students majoring D3 Vocational Department UNMER Malang. results indicate improve English-speaking skills Cross Cultural Understanding (CCU) as guiding Furthermore, also show low which lead self-confidence because methods by lecturers have not developed due application teacher-centered classes lack practice from students. Therefore, able stimulate students’ speaking proficiency CCU development needed.
